This Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

4/5 stars

Wow, what a fun and addicting read! I think I literally finished this book in under 15 hours since I was so invested in this story. This book nails cutesy romance while at the same time doesn't repeat the same story as other romance novels. This is my first time reading a romance novel from an autistic person's point of view and what a fun journey it was. Learning and understanding more about this diagnosis while at the same time following along with a love story created such a fun story. Now I understand hearing the synopsis for this story might be a little alarming; With our main character Olive being a rich and successful econometric falling in love with her escort Micheal. But following these characters along their journey was such a fun ride. I learned to love these characters individually with each of their quirks and I loved the character development that occurred in this book for them. I loved the dynamic that was formed between the two characters and how much chemistry there was between them. This book was one of those romances that had me giggling out loud when reading. I loved how both characters went through their romance arc together but also their own individual arcs. Such as Olive believing in herself that she deserves to be loved and Micheal finally unleashing his passion to create his own clothing brand. The whole first 80% of the book I was flipping through like there was no tomorrow. The only part that brought this book down a bit for me was that I didn't like how the conflict was just a classic miscommunication scenario. It burns me reading these conflicts scenes and all I want to do is throw my book against the wall. I also thought the conflict was a bit rushed, but that could be because I was reading the book for the romance so obviously I didn't like the part where the 2 main characters were separated when I know they are meant to be together.

Overall, this book was so fun for a quick uplifting romance novel if that is what you are looking for then I definitely recommend it. I love how Helen Hoang writes her characters and the character dynamics she is able to form. I will definitely be reading more of her books in the future.
